23 Micro watersheds in Hamirpur, Shimla and Kinnaur districts of Himachal Pradesh
Our project focuses on managing 23 micro watersheds in Hamirpur, Shimla, and Kinnaur districts. These efforts enhance water resource management, prevent soil erosion, and promote sustainable land use through rainwater harvesting, soil conservation, and reforestation. The initiative aims to improve agricultural productivity, support local communities, and ensure long-term environmental sustainability.
5 micro watershesheds under National Watershed Development Project for rain fed areas (NWDPRA) in Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh
14 micro watershed under WDC PMKSY 2.0 in Sirmour district Himachal Pradesh.
Formed 39 SHGs (self help groups) out of 50 alongwith their linkages in Bhattiyat block of Chamba District and 23 SHGs in the Nichar block of Kinnaur District, Himachal Pradesh. The SHGs were sponsored by NABARD and handholding/refresher training was provided to them.
Umbrella Program on Natural Resource Management (UPNRM) in Karsog area of Mandi, Sirmour and Kinnaur districts in Himachal Pradesh. The programme was sponsored by NABARD, Himachal Pradesh. As a result of this, four FPOs have been formed and promoted which are now doing the work of UPNRM.

In collaboration with Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) regional station Shimla, completed a project “Establishment of Virus free elite block of mother apple trees” in the tribal areas of Kinnaur and Lahoul Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. The project was sponsored by department of science and Technology (DST), New Delhi.
Provided consultancy to Bhutti Weavers Cooperative Societies Ltd. Kullu for the preparation of following documents.

- The Guiding Principles on Financial Management Regulations, 2012
Integrated Tribal Development Programmes
- Rupi, Chotta Kamba and Nathapa Gram Panchayats of Development Block Nichar, Kinnaur under Tribal Development Fund Scheme (TDF), sponsored by NABARD, Himachal Pradesh.
- Formation and promotion of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in Shimla, Kinnaur and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh, sponsored by NABARD, Himachal Pradesh.
Monitoring and Evaluation Studies conducted by HARP
As consultant of NABCONS Himachal Pradesh, HARP has successfully completed the following studies:
- Third Party Monitoring and Evaluation of a Project, “Rural Economic Empowerment and Employment Generation through Animal Waste Management”. The project was executed by Baddi, Barotiwala, Nalagarh Industries Association (BBNIA) through Himalayan Nature Cure Society, Jharmajri, Baddi in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Himachal Pradesh, (November to December 2016).
- Third party inspection of Border Area Development Programme (BADP) projects of the year 2013-14 of Tribal Development Department in Boarder blocks of Pooh, Spiti and Kapla, Himachal Pradesh during 2016-17.
- Impact Evaluation Study of Daseran Watershed Project in Solan District of Himachal Pradesh during the year 2019-20,
- Third party monitoring of Border Area Development Programme (BADP) Projects of the year 2011-12, 2012-13 &2013-14 executed by the Department of Rural Development Uttarakhand in Boarder blocks of Pithoragarh and Chamoli districts during the year 2019-20.
- Third party evaluation of RKVY projects implemented by the Department of Agriculture in Himachal Pradesh during the year 2017-18. The assignment was completed in the year 2019-20.
Welfare activities
Under different sponsored projects the HARP has organised may activities having the objectives of the welfare of the society. Although, with the help of the Society funds, HARP also has voluntarily organized many welfare activities especially blood donation camp, awareness camp on women and child nutrition management, sanitation literacy camp, etc.
Training and Capacity Building Programmes successfully completed
As consultant of NABCONS Himachal Pradesh, HARP has successfully completed the following studies:
- Three days of training programmes on “Development Schemes being implemented by the Rural Development Department under Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP)” for the representatives of all Panchayats of district Kinnaur (Mar17-19 and Mar 27-29, 2012) and 2 days for the Kalpa Development Block, Kinnaur (Sep 21 to 22, 2012 and Sep 22 to 23, 2012) at Samiti Hall of Block Development Office ReckongPeo, Kinnaur. The programmes were sponsored by the Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Kinnaur and Kalpa respectively at ReckongPeo.
- Three days of programmes on, “Development Schemes being implemented by the Rural Development Department under Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP)” for the Representatives of different Panchayats of district Mandi at the Conference Hall of KVK Sundernagar, district Mandi between Oct 31-Nov 2, 2011 and 21 Nov - Nov 23, 2011. The programme was sponsored by the Project Director, District Watershed Development Agency (DWDA) Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
- Eleven (one and two days training Programmes on Organic Farming under the “Area Expansion and Organic Certification under National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP)” project for the farmers of Rajana, Development Block Sangrah, district Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh between 2013 to 2015.
- Eleven, one and two days Training Programmes on Organic Farming under a project, “Area Expansion and Organic Certification under National Vegetable Initiative for Urban Clusters (NVIUC)” for the farmers of Ganog, Development Block Sangrah and for the farmers of Kathait, Development Block Bhatiyat at Chowari, district Chamba, Himachal Pradesh between 2013 to 2015.
- Thirty, one day Training Programmes on Organic Farming under a project, “Area Expansion and Organic Certification under National Vegetable Initiative for Urban Clusters (NVIUC)” for the farmers of Dhundan area of Development Block Kunihar, district Solan, Himachal Pradesh from 2014 onwards.
- Twelve, one day Training/ Capacity Building/ Mobilization/ Awareness Programmes on different topics for farmers of HARP nurtured and NABARD sponsored FPO - The Shubham Fresh Vegetable Growers Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd., Village Galot, PO Panesh, Tehsil & Distt. Shimla, 171 011, Himachal Pradesh between the years 2015 to 2017.

- Eight one day Training/ Capacity Building/ Mobilization/ Awareness Programmes on different topics for farmers of HARP nurtured and NABARD sponsored FPO - The SubziUtpadak Cooperative Society Ltd., Village Bhanoti, PO Bagshar, Tehsil Karsog, Distt. Mandi, 175 009, Himachal Pradesh between the years 2014 to 2017.
- Twelve one day Training/ Capacity Building/ Mobilization/ Awareness Programmes on different topics for farmers of HARP nurtured and NABARD sponsored FPO - The Tranda Valley Fruit and Vegetable Growers Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd., VPO Chaura, Tehsil Nichar, Distt. Kinnaur, 172 101, Himachal Pradesh between the years 2015 to 2017.
- Twelve one day Training/ Capacity Building/ Mobilization/ Awareness Programmes on different topics for farmers of HARP’s nurtured and NABARD sponsored FPO - The Bhaba Valley Fruit and Vegetable Production and Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd., Village Katgaon, Teh. Nichar, Distt. Kinnaur, 172 118, Himachal Pradesh between the years 2015 to 2017.
- Ten one day Training/ Capacity Building/ Mobilization/ Awareness Programmes on different topics for farmers of Rupi, Chhota Kamba &Nathpa Gram Panchayats of Development Block Nichar, Kinnaur (HP) under a project, “Integrated Tribal Development Programme” sponsored by NABARD between the years 2014-15 to 2016-17.
" Training is a continuous process, so the HARP is continuously building the capacity of farmers in various fields under one or the other projects being implemented by HARP "
